Made it home safely from seeing my folks. It was a good Christmas cause nobody got killed, or got into a fight or stormed out of the house this year.

My family is the type which asks you what you want for a present and gets that for them.

I asked for stuff on my Amazon Wish List. I got the DVD "Joe Dirt" (I totally thought of [livejournal.com profile] cecilthemuppet. Hussah for Mullets!) and the book "The Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security" by Kevin Mitnick. Mitnick is the most famous computer hacker in the world. Since his first arrest in 1981, at age 17, he has spent nearly half his adult life either in prison or as a fugitive. He has been the subject of three books and his alleged 1982 hack into NORAD inspired the movie War Games.

We left on Sunday around 10:00 am and when to my grandparents house and visited them and took them their presents and then went and saw my other grandma in the hursing home and took her a present. We made a couple stops along the way and made it back to the Twin Cities by 6:30.

Today I searched all over town to find the last to presents i have yet to buy and found the perfect gift but I needed two. I hope to find the other this week sometime. I also stopped at Hub Hobby and drooled over the remote controlled cars. Not the plain kid toys but the outdoor racing kind. I also mailed out two CDs and a DVD that were to be Christmas gifts for my sister and Bro-in-Law that i forget back at my house. First the Lefse and now this...

Tonight I had a most excellant time. [livejournal.com profile] kitchenwitch and I went and picked up [livejournal.com profile] ubiquitous_me and met [livejournal.com profile] cecilthemuppet and her Beau at a cinema in Apple Valley and saw "LOTR-TTT". I didn't enjoy it as much as the first but it was good company. Afterwards, we went to a nearby Perkins and grabbed a bite to eat and talked awile and then we came home and I had sex with the Misses and took and shower and got unstinky....

After delays and a false start and me getting sick and potential bad weather, we made it to my folks in WI.

I wanted to leave this morning sometime, Noon at the VERY latest, cause it is an almost 6 hour drive with rest stops. [livejournal.com profile] kitchenwitch was not ready to go and had to get several things at several stores, including mailing holiday cards (FINALLY) and some tree ordaments from a swap she lead last year but didn't send out. It wasn't all her fault. One person never sent thiers to swap so Kitchenwitch never mailed the rest out before Yule and then forgot about then until just finding them while cleaning her craft area this week.

While she is doing this, I take our old bed to the thrift store and cleaned the kitchen from yesterday's Lefsefest and did the dishes. I put away the laundry and packed my stuff for the trip and bot everything ready. Kitchen came home RIGHT at Noon and still had to get her stuff ready. I loaded the van with gifts and clothes and my BiPAP. I took a mental inventory of tasks to remember to do before we left.

Clothes - Check
Meds - Check
BiPAP - Check
Gifts - Check
Lower Theromstat - Check
Unplug holiday lights - Check
Hide keys for pet sitter - Check

Ok, NOW we are ready to leave and rolling down the 494 by 12:30... Not to terribly late... We get 15 miles or so into WI and started talking about what food we were having for our party and Kitchenwitch suddenly remembers we FORGOT THE LEFSE for my folks. AWW FUCK! So we decide that we HAD to go back and get them so we take the next exit (Hey [livejournal.com profile] huckfinn, It was the Hammond exit. We thought about calling you and having you leave work early and bringing them to us! *grin*) and went back. It was now 2:00 PM when we left the cities again.

We had to stop in Osseo to pick up a Sour Cream and Raisin pie for my dad. The Norske Nooke is famous for their pies and that is my dad's favorite. We were going to eat lunch there but decided we would get fast food to save time.

About the time we got out of the Cities the second time, I started to feel a bit sick to my stomach and a bit tired and weak. I decided that at Eau Claire that I *HAD* to stop to eat and needed to sit for awhile. By the time we got the food, I was shaking and felt so weak I could hardly stand it and was wondering if I was going to pass out. Kitchenwitch was looking worried and kept asking me if I was ok. After eating I started to feel a bit better. I think the cause was that I took my pill(Glucophage) (sp) a couple hours after I ate breakfast. I am supposed to take it with food but I thought I was ok. I think my blood sugar just got very low and was compouded by the two Diet Dews I had on the drive. (and also that I only got 3.5 hours sleep last night cause I was hanging out with two of my favorite LJ friends. But it was WELL worth it!)

Kitchenwitch drove to Osseo while I rested and we got our pie and continued for about 1/2 an hour and then I drove the rest of the way. We got to my folks safe and sound by 8:15, just in time to have leftover roast that was still warm from my folk's dinner and some lefse. My folks went to bed around 9:00 and we stayed up for a bit. Kitchenwitch finished knitting a hat for a present to my nephew, that she started on FIVE times on the way down here. *grin* Ok, 3 times today and 2 yesterday. I wrapped the computer moniter that we sister and I got my folks and now here I am on my mom's computer complete with blurry 14 inch moniter and 42,666kb dial-up connection.

Kitchenwitch is here now and wants the puter and I am going to bed and tomorrow my sister and brother-in-law and my niece and nephew will come down and we shall celebrate our Xmas and then on Sunday I have the long trip back home to look forward to.

Good night all!

Fun night

I loafed of most of the day on the couch watching TV while poor [livejournal.com profile] kitchenwitch slaved over making tons of Lefse. I did fix one griddle for her. After that, I went and picked up our bed for the spare bedroom and showered and sat down to check LJ.

[livejournal.com profile] cecilthemuppet was online and I chatted with her. She invited me to join her and [livejournal.com profile] ubiquitous_me at a St. Paul Perkins. I met up with them a bit after 10 PM and we chatted tell about 2:00. Then Cecil took off and I gave Candie a ride home since I live more in her direction. I had a MOST excellent time with them and tried not to monopolize the conversation. Although at one point I WAS interrupted to be asked if my story would end with a point. heh... *grin* Sorry. Just slug me next time and tell me to SHADDUP! hee... OH. and I got to meet the infamous, DON, the waiter!

I feel a tad bit guilty leaving after Kitchenwitch worked SOO hard all day and was very tired and I didn't clean up the kitchen for her like I was supposed to... Sorry... :-( Thanks for not getting mad for me going out.

Tomorrow I start my "official" vacation from work and do not have to go back to work until 1/2/03. I did take the last 2.5 days of for sick time but I was really sick. Honest!

We are also heading down to my folks until Sunday for our Xmas get together. yay fun

Well., It is VERY late and I need to get to bed and rest for my journey tomorrow.

LJ Meet up

[livejournal.com profile] kitchenwitch and I went to yet another LJ meet up. It was at the Loading Zone again this time. It was mostly with people I have already met. There was a couple new faces though. I did try to talk to people I never talked to last time. I took my camera this time and got some good pics. We will try to post them tomorrow.

Somehow I managed to get a shot of Nekid Girl Butt on my camera. I would much rather have had a nice shot of Nekid Girl Boobies, But I was still very much amused. At least I got to get to cop a couple girl boobie squeezes in and I was lightly rubbed and fondled in return. (More please!!!) I did enjoy that....Hee!

Any ways.... Welcome new friends... [livejournal.com profile] ashedreyvin & [livejournal.com profile] goddessnyki

Time for me to go to bed...

I have been sick so I left work early. I will probably call in sick to work the next two days then I start my vacation and will not have to be back to work until next year!

YA!

I figure if I am sick, I might was well milk the sick time I have stored.

I still plan to go to the LJ meet. I am not THAT sick. I just feel tired and a bit congested. I think I will take a nap and that should help...

I woke up this morning to find that my Netscape mail could not find my mail server. Strange. I never have trouble. I had received mail from earlier in the nite. I checked my website and it said 403 Forbidden - You don't have permission to access / on this server.

God damn it. My hosting site shut me down. I have been with the same company for almost 4 years. It is with a buddy of mine from Wisconsin. I used to pay him quarterly for services until one day I sold him a Laptop for $800 and two years hosting. He was moving to CA for a big Dot Com job and needed something portable quick.

After about 6 months he got laid off due to the big dot com crashes and moved back to WI deep in debt. I didn't talk to him much or bother him for the remaining $600 he owed me and he has kept the billing up to date. I recently tried to contact him to square up the payment cause I knew my 2 years were coming up soon. Well, In fact, it was up today....

I hunted down his phone number and left two voice mails for him and sent a message to all the e-mail accounts I know for him and even contacted a mutual friend to help track him down. No luck. I called the company who actually hosts the site that he resold to me and they said they could not help me right now because they have a contact with him and not me. They said they would disable his account and , I quote, "Hopefully it will smoke him out"

Luckily, I work for a Telecom Company and we offer web hosting. And more luckily, I am good friends with the lead ISP Tech. He set me up with DNS, e-mail and web hosting for free. I switched my DNS and Network Solutions to point to our servers today and when our DNS servers reboots tonite at 8:00 PM, I should be able to start getting mail and upload my website.

I will probably leave it there for awhile but I shouldn't abuse it. Besides, we don't offer much in the way of cool and fancy features but at least it is free.

And [livejournal.com profile] huckfinn will be able to get to my website at work and see our wedding pics and naked pics of [livejournal.com profile] kitchenwitch's Boobies whenever she posts them. For some odd reason, My company was blocking access to my old web server. I think they saw in the logs that I was occasionally transferring large files back and forth between my work PC and my FTP server.

I signed up for CCNA class today at Inver Grove Community College.
It will be every Monday and Thursday nights from 6-9:30 for 2 months for each class. There are four classes and each will cost $996.25. I hope it is worth it. My company will reimburse me up to $1500.00

This is funny.

I do love TLC and the Discovery Channel.

Tonight on The Learning Channel they are showing

"World Trade Center: Anatomy of the Collapse "

I have actually seen most of this show a couple times, but tonite I paid attention to the teaser they played earlier in the night before the show.

They promise that you would learn what was behind the collapse of the Twin Towers...

Um... I thought like everybody already knew this...

HELLO... Two big planes loaded with jet fuel crashed into them....

DUH....

WHERE IS EVERYBODY???

I am pissed off at things at work again.

They are making changes to our on call rotation. We added a new engineer to our office about 2 months ago and I "THOUGHT" they would add him to the rotation. Instead, they removed the other engineers and put us on call every 3 weeks vs, every 5-6. We make less than $60 after taxes plus any actual work we do is overtime. But they are changing how the flow goes for us. We will have people "Triaging" our tickets now so we will probably get called less. That's bullshit because we are expected to be on call twice as often but will make less than 1/2 as much when we are on call. When I started this job, We didn't have to be on call.

Second, two of the repair techs, who are doing the triage for us, are getting free DSL from our company, (we ARE a telecom company) so they don't have to use dial up. The rest of us, who have our OWN broadband paid for out of our own pocket, will not get reimbursed. We are not in out company's service area. That is completely unfair. Make them use dial up or let them pay for their own broadband!

Third, The repair supervisor came to me to help a customer that had no line light troubleshoot the problem. I am a second level data tech. I build and troubleshoot the data networks. The only thing that can cause the line light to be out is bad hardware or cabling and not something I troubleshoot. It stays at first level. If everything is plugged in correctly, then we dispatch a repair tech. The customer admitted to moving stuff around and when they got done it did not work.

The repair supervisor wanted me to look into it any ways, I told him again to have the first level guys check to make sure the dsl modem was plugged in correctly and dispatch as needed. I certainly did not want to stop my lunch and call a customer for such a simple issue that the first level reps should be able to handle.

Later today, he comes back to tell me he had send two (Why two, I have NO idea) and all what was wrong was that is was not plugged in to the wall. He said I could have figured that out in five minutes if I would have called the customer myself instead of him sending two techs. I said the first level reps should have been able to make sure it was plugged in. He said my skill level was higher and they were not that good at troubleshooting. I said THAT is the problem that needs to be addressed. If you can't ask the customer if their SHIT is plugged in, you have NO business taking ANY repair calls. Don't give ME shit that they can't do their job. And don't give ME shit cause YOU sent TWO techs. The customer created the problem that caused the dispatch and it should have been a billable service call @ $75.00

SCREW YOU!

I just love it when people from other departments who do not know my job, tell me how to do my job. It is even funnier when they argue with me about what I have to do and back it up with what other people, who are in yet another different department and also do not know how to do my job, tell them something can also been done a certain way when it can't.

I have a customer with a T1 with 7 voice and 14 data channels on it. They want to disconnect 12 data channels and leave 2. I told them it required a tech to go out and reconfigure their equipment first. I have a provsioner (This is the person who handles the orders, records and paperwork only) it was ready to do and wanted me to do it right away. They said it didn't need any reconfiguring and just to remove the 12 channels. She said that the Sales Engineer also "confirmed" this with her.

I also explained that those channels are all bonded together in the PSAX (Our ATM switch we provision our equipment on) and I would have to delete ALL channels and rebuild just two channels bonded together. She also tried to tell me I didn't have to do that because the data does not go through the PSAX. I informed her that all data has to go through our PSAXs (I would know, I my team builds ALL our voice and data circuits) and she ARGUED with me.... Then she said "Well, I don't know what you guys do over there"

Freaking idiots. Telling my "I" am WRONG on how I am supposed to do MY job and then says she doesn't even know what we do over here??? Then why the hell are you telling me I am wrong....

[livejournal.com profile] kitchenwitch, frustrated over the delay in getting the bed, decides to check out places on for the bed we (she) wanted. Right away she found a couple places, one who had the bed for like only $6 bucks more than we paid for the other bed and has free shipping and actually says they have them in stock.

So, I ordered one and hope the really do have it in stock and can get it here in a couple weeks. I called Depth of Field and they are still going to keep our order active but will let us cancel it anytime we want and allow us to get our money back.

I hope we get one in time for the party...
